Well, I have a May Ball tomorrow. It may only be the first of May, but they had to bring it forward because of exams. I am wearing clothes, and travelling by transport. I shall be eating food and avoiding all drugs, alcoholic beverages, and anything else that should be there. All I've got to do now is organise lots of photos to go in the yearbook, and make sure that all the award presentations get photographed. And sort out budgeting, photos, and final content for the yearbook. AHH!!! STRESS!!! And there's the small matter of GCSES IN A MATTER OF WEEKS!!!

/me goes into incomprehensible rants, interrupted by the occasional maniacal scream

I actually did quite a bit of work today - rather rare!
Started back at school today for two weeks :S. I have a German oral exam in two weeks and I don't even know when it's going to be.
AHHH!!! GCSEs in 4 WEEKS!!
(This is scary)
The eyarbook is starting to near completion - all we need now is about 350 photos, some chunks of text and a couple of pages from various people whoa re working on them. It seems a lot, but it isn't that much, seeing as the photos are mainly coming from two sources.

For those who don't know, DeviantArt is a location for all digital artists to put their stuff.
So now I've got a place and some of my stuff is up there. Go to http://the-nerd.deviantart.com/ to see me. I won't be posting any of the stuff here (because it would waste internet space cos it's already up elsewhere) but I thought some of you might like to see my "creative" output. :)

Sorry about yesterday's lack of updates - I was busy not revising. I found out that I had left my bag in the boot of my aunt's car, and so I couldn't do the chemistry specimen paper that I was planning on doing.

Brother and parent are currently out at a car boot sale. Why aren't those obsolete by now? You go out, get cold, have no fun, and have less people viewing and make less money than you would if you sold your goods on Ebay. Plus, if there are two interested parties there is no bidding, and it's far less fun. And less warm.

Sorry about the lack of updates yesterday - I couldn't think of anything specific to say, and didn't want to waffle.
I saw Johnny English today. In response to the comments posted at www.monkey830.co.uk, I found it a hilariously funny film. Some say I have no taste, some say I just like all spoofs. I say both.
I did about 2 hours of German revision this morning. More than I would have done if I had been at home.
I might do that History homework tonight...

/me wonders how anyone can read this without falling asleep
:D

History revision sux. I did some this morning, and it sucked then. I've got to do some more now. I was going to do some more 10 minutes ago, but I got chatting on MSN.
I helped to cook brownies this morning. They ain't gonna become guides now. Bwahahahahaha.
&60;ahem&62;
Work on the yearbook is steaming ahead nicely. I may make extracts available here later, I don't know.
Hmm...
I can't think of anything else to write at the moment. I'll be back later. Maybe.

I know exactly how to set a video timer, and so does my father. It's not difficult - I don't know what the fuss is about. I've known since about 5 minutes after we got the TV/Video home! But last night, the timer went wrong. It had been checked, and was set from 2:00 until 4:00. But it only recorded for about 2 minutes, at about 1:40am. So my GCSE Bitesize programme did not get recorded, so I'm going to have to use books to revise the core of the science syllabus as well as the additional triple science modules. Time to get a new video recorder? No. Time to spend longer revising than I really needed to. Yes.
I did do an hour of Physics revision, though, and about an hour (I wasn't timing) of triple science revision.

On another note, Farscape, for those who did not know, is an incredibly good sci-fi programme imported from the US (ye, it is good, before anyone tries to disagree). It has been commissioned for four series by the US Sci-fi Channel, but they have not bought the fifth and final series. So we are on a cliffhanger. Our protagonist (John Crighton) has just been frozen in some sort of chemical by an unidentified alien craft and broken into teeny tiny pieces, with his future wife's wedding ring lying on top of him. We have been given "To be continued..." - or not as the case may be. But unlike most programmes, this one has put up a fight. Well, the fans have. The biggest fan campaign in history has been set up, based at http://www.savefarscape.com. All they (or we) want is to have the fifth series made and aired. They have organised ad campaigns on TV and Radio and have even bought magazine cover space.
So, the time has come to decide. Are you Farscape?

Well, today, apart from being Easter sunday has been a pretty normal day.
Happy easter to any who want it wished to them, happy passover or spring festival or any other appropriate festival to anyone who wishes to be wished those wishes.
Went to church this morning, busked some songs, played some from music. Had lunch, went to grandmother's this afternoon. Played games, ate tea, came home. Watched a fascinating programme on Leonardo da Vinci, then did an hours Physics revision. Checked microsoft.public.publisher, here, and Monkey830.co.uk, then wrote this blog entry. Who knows what will come next?

Diesel Estate. Quite a nice car. It's not as nice inside as the Saab 9-5 Estate, but after the abismal service we have received from Saab, and the fact that we have lost £12000 to them, we felt it was time to move on.
There aren't leather seats unless you pay a few thousand more (which we don't have), so your bum sticks. There is no tape deck, no ACC unless you pay more, and the dashboard reminds me of a Ford Fiesta. But it is cheaper than any offers for new cars we've had from Saab, is new rather than the second-hand cars they were trying to give us, and is cheaper to run (being diesel and 5 insurance groups below the Saab).
I'll be sad to see the Saab go, but after the trouble it's given us there's nothing else we can do.
The streamed videos of the TV appearances have now been taken down from The Ferret site, but all we can do is learn the lessons and move on. After 15 months of abismal service, it's time to give up.

That's what I posted to Monkey830.co.uk forums yesterday. My parents are out now collecting the Citroën.
/me signs
All I can say to anyone who's considering buying a Saab is this: DON'T. Especially if you're in the UK. Their cars DO have faults, despite their claims to the contrary. The difference is that they will not admit when they have a fault, and refuse point blank to do anything about it. Their service is abismal and the only thing they are interested in is cash. If you buy a Saab, you may be lucky and become a happy Saab owner, but you would not want to waste £12,000 on a crap car. I'm sorry if I've offended anyone, but that's the way I feel.

The bottom line: DON'T BUY SAAB

I finally managed to install smilies today (after corrupting my GM install last night). Sure, I should have been revising Welsh, but never mind...
I have managed to do 1/4 hour of revision today. Not much else. Another boring day. Sure, the weather's nice, but I can't enjoy it without feeling guilty about not doing revision.
On another note, check out LegendaryFrog's website - it's home to many great flash cartoons (such as the One Ring to Rule them All, Kerrigan and the Frog, etc...)
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LegendaryFrog/
You need a Yahoo ID to get in, tho. it's worth it. i changed my wallpaper to "What the Crap?!" :)

I made this post in the Monkey830.co.uk forums yesterday, but have decided it belongs here. After reading many All Your Base sites, watching videos and looking at images, I went and downloaded an emulator last week.
It's not anywhere near as bad as I predicted (sure, it has the opening dialogue reproduced below) - it's basically one of those games where you work from right to left in a spaceship (or "zig" as it's called) shooting evil Natol craft out of the sky. I'm stuck on the first level.

In AD 2101 war was beginning

(I'll leave out the names for simplicity - no guarantees are made for accuracy)
What happen!
Someone set up us the bomb
What!
We get signal
Main screen turn on
It's you!
How are you gentlemen
All your base are belong to us
You are on the way to destruction
What you say!
You have no chance to survive make your time
Ha ha ha ha
Take off every "zig"
You know what you doing
Move "zig"
For great justice

It has really cool music, too (wind band and organ arrangements may be coming soon...)

Today I have been an exceedingly boring person. I have done about an hour's maths revision, practised trombone for about an hour, eaten, tried to ring Finesse Photography (but received an answerphone after 20 RINGS!!! Who would be sad enough to wait that long for an answer? Don't answer that.) I worked out how to insert OLE objects in Publisher programatically, so I am a step closer to the WordArt 3.2 add-in. So a pretty boring day really. Maybe I'll do something interesting tomorrow. If I do, you'll be the first to know (unless someone else sees this page first)

I set up a new guestbook today as a displacement activity.
I'm curious to see what sort of people come here, and why. Please sign the guestbook so I can find out! :)

For anyone reading this from another country and wondering what on Earth I am on abour, I shall explain.
At 16 (or 15 in my case) - at the end of Year 11 of compulsory education - all pupils have to sit exams called GCSEs (for General Certificate in Secondary Education). Mine start in about a month, and I need to be studying hard. But I'm not studying as hard as I should be.
To be honest, I hate revision. It sucks. It is incredibly boring, and I never feel any information being absorbed. Plus, there's always something better I could be doing, such as:
- Writing an entry in my blog (like I'm doing now, probably as a displacement activity)
- Setting up my blog (like I was doing most of yesterday)
- Practising my trombone (which I was doing yesterday and need to do every day)
- Exercising (which I seriously need to do)
- Working on the yearbook (which is going out later this year - see Monkey830's site (http://www.monkey830.co.uk) for some stuff on that)
- Sleeping/eating (which I always need to do)
- Answering questions on microsoft.public.publisher (like I was just doing)
- Looking for something else to do to avoid revision (like I'm probably going to do now)

W00T! I now have GreyMatter up and working, so you can have updates from me far more regularly, and if you are that sad, you can gain an insight into my life.
Enjoy!
